Stoneware is a beautiful addition to any kitchen!
With proper care and handling, stoneware will last you a lifetime–and more.
To ensure its longevity, please use the following practices:
- Hand wash only
- Do not use soaps on unglazed surfaces
- Heat/cool pieces gradually: do not put hot pieces in water. Also consider “preheating” your piece in the oven as it warms
- Never use “broil” setting, heat above 450° F, or use on the stove top/open flame
- Over time baking stoneware will develop a natural, non-stick surface. To facilitate this, stoneware may be seasoned, much like cast iron skillets.
